What NIGP Chapters Do
Becoming a member in a local NIGP chapter can be an excellent way to succeed in your career. As a chapter member, you have opportunities to network with professionals in all facets of public procurement, attend local and regional meetings, share ideas and strategies, and have a base to champion for causes that can influence change within the industry and your local community. Chapter membership also provides an excellent opportunity for you to develop your leadership skills with a variety of leadership positions.
NIGP chapters operate as individual organizations with separate leadership from NIGP national. Although they operate in different locations, many of our chapters do the following:
- Host educational seminars
- Maintain their own websites
- Publish monthly newsletters
- Manage local membership directories
- Provide employment referral services
- Sponsor conference and trade show events
