PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Join us for the Impact cohort, an exceptional gathering of mid to senior-level public procurement practitioners dedicated to addressing the top leadership challenges in a collaborative and supportive environment. This experience aims to foster strong relationships, actively solve contemporary challenges, and encourage the exchange of innovative ideas that may challenge conventional thinking.

After conducting research into leadership challenges that are impacting the profession, along with feedback from recent Summit attendees, NIGP’s Leadership Committee selected Change Leadership, Strategic Planning, and Culture as the themes for this year’s Summit.  

Change Leadership: According to the Harvard Business Review, 70% of change initiatives fail due to a lack of effective leadership. This workshop focuses on Change Leadership Compass™, a tool that focuses on understanding your leadership style and refining the ability to adjust it for maximum impact when guiding others through change. Participants will engage in exercises and discussions to identify strengths and roadblocks, improving their change navigation. Leaders will learn to inspire the Connector, engage the Innovator, and mobilize the Operators to drive collective movement towards positive outcomes, acquiring practical strategies and tools to lead change effectively.

Strategic Planning: Intentional planning is crucial in today's fast-paced environment. This workshop introduces concepts and tools for developing strategic priorities and goals. Participants will learn to set clear, actionable objectives aligned with their organization's vision and mission through interactive discussions and hands-on activities. By the end of the workshop, leaders will be equipped with techniques and frameworks to create and implement effective strategies that drive organizational success and foster continuous improvement and innovation.

Culture: In today’s dynamic landscape, influenced by political shifts, generational changes, and the impacts of the Great Resignation and the Great Reshuffling, procurement leaders often question their organizational culture's effectiveness. This workshop offers a deep dive into essential elements for fostering a strong, productive, and motivated workplace. Through engaging discussions and practical exercises, leaders will discover strategies to enhance their organizational culture for immediate, impactful results.
